1. It has been observed that electricity charges of the building where rooms are being used by the officials for residence have increased for more than the compensatory rent payable by them. It has, therefore, been decided that charges in respect of single room residential facility of office premises allowed to employees where available shall be increased to 15% of their pay if separate meter for electricity is not installed (i.e 5% for accommodation and 10% on account of utilities charges). In cases where separate meter is installed, the rent shall be 5% plus actual amount of the electricity expenses. 2. The revised rate will be effective from 1st August, 2002. In the meanwhile, the officials / officers may adopt the option deemed suitable to their circumstances and arrange to get separate meter in their residential portions of accommodation. 3. This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
